Curriculum Guide
Reading the World: A Curriculum Guide to the Film is a brand new study material created in dialogue with the film that we are excited! We are incredibly proud of the work these students developed at the Paulo Freire Initiative at Columbia University and encourage you to download the full guide and put it to use in your classrooms, theaters, and beyond.
Developed through collective reflection, this guide seeks to deepen engagement with the film by offering references, guiding questions, and pathways for a shared construction of knowledge across diverse educational settings.

Curriculum Guide
This guide, designed as a roadmap for collective learning, is intended for activists and higher education educators who wish to explore the documentary Reading the World with learners and community members.
The guide grows out of Andréia Lee Davies' master's thesis, supervised by Professor Regina Cortina in the Program in International and Comparative Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. The thesis examines both the film and the broader legacy of Paulo Freire, ultimately developing a pedagogical approach for engaging the documentary in educational settings.
